       Tickets are now available for the 50th Anniversary Former Employee Event.

          Enter "SFAFE" as the promotion code.

          The "All Inclusive" package costs $35.00 per person, incliuding a parking pass.

          An "event" ticket for individuals with a season pass, is $15.00 per person.

50th Anniversary Reunion

50th Anniversary Celebration

      In Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Six Flags Over Texas, the Six Flags Association of Former Employees, in conjunction with Six Flags Over Texas, is hosting a former employee rally. Mark your calendar now. Here are the basic facts:

     Date:  June 18, 2011

          Price per Person: $35.00 Plus Tax

      The Rally Package Includes:

o   Park Admission

o   All you can eat catered meal served in pavilions 6-7 pm (pavilions reserved until 8pm)

o   Meet-n-greet at location to be determined (tentatively Mexican Gazebo) throughout the day

o   Special presentation in Southern Palace at park closing – details TBD (content coordinated by former employees)

o   One hour exclusive ride time on Texas Giant and Titan from 10-11pm w/ refreshments

o   Parking pass

UTA 50th Anniversary Display

      The UTA Library is sponsoring a display of historical Six Flags items beginning in February and running through May.

      Early historical items will be on display, including a large fold out map from 1961, other early maps, photographs, postcards, souvenirs and a Speelunker.  Many items were loaned by former employees and members of our association.

       The display will be in the Special Collections Library, which is open:

Sunday

Closed

Monday

9:00 am - 7:00 pm

Tuesday-Saturday

9:00 am - 5:00 pm

         Special collections is located on the 6th floor of the library.

       The exhibit, “What You Wish the World Could Be: The Early Years of Six Flags Over Texas,” is free and open to the public. Hours are 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Read more at the Special Collections website.

Six Flags Over Georgia Book

Tim Hollis has written a Book on Six Flags Over Georgia. The History of Six Flags Over Georgia is very similar to Six Flags Over Texas. Six Flags Over Georgia did get the Texas Hook ride, and many of our Attractions are repeated or redone there: Happy Motoring, the Astrolift, Flumes I and II, with the same Giant Animations (Paul Bunyon and the Log-cutting evil-doer), Nalers, The Kroft Puppet show, Chaps and Casa. Some of the same rides are done with different story lines, a cave with no Speelunkers (wait, we do have one of those) a River with different Indians, Forts and Alligators.

The box is mostly pictures, with descriptive text under each picture.

Scott Jordan Passed Away

    Former Six Flags Employee Scott Jordan passed away June 26, 2006 in Los Angeles. He was 42 years of age.

The Six Flags Association of Former Employees is an Non-Profit Organization Incorporated in Texas. Membership consists of former employees of the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. Membership is open to anyone that has previously worked in the park, including employees of park contractors and lessees.

The organizations goals include:

 
  • Sponsoring recreational activities for members;
 
  • Sponsoring community service and charitable activities;
 
  • Supporting the documentation of the history and heritage of the park; and
     The organization is qualified by the IRS as a non-profit organization.

     The Six Flags Association of Former Employees operates in cooperation with the management of Six Flags Over Texas Amusement Parks, but is an independent organization.
