Former Six Flags Employee Scott Jordan passed away June 26, 2006 in Los Angeles. He was 42 years of age.
Scott graduated from Corsicana High School in 1983. He began working in Ride Operations at Six Flags from 1979 until 1984. That, however, was not the end of his amusement park career. From Six Flags, he moved on to Disneyworld, where he was a Skipper on the jungle cruise ride. From Florida, he went to California. In 1996 he was working at Disney's Hollywood Records when he was hired as a design coordinator (imagineer) for Disneyland. While at Disneyland, he developed "Disneyland Forever", a system that allows guest to make their own CDs containing sound tracks from Disneyland attractions. The kiosks opened on May 22, 1998, and were a major success. A "Disney World Forever" project followed in 1999. While at Disneyland, Scott's voice was recorded for the voice of the first ghost on the right in the attic scene of the Haunted Mansion. Scott went on to work for Digitial On Demand, a company providing systems to sell custom CDs and the provider of the systems used by Disneyland Forever. He then helped create amusementpark.com, a website originally devoted to providing extensive content regarding amusement parks, as well as selling tickets on-line. Scott was the vice-president of content. He also worked as an amusement park and entertainment center consultant. Scott owned a massive collection of historical Six Flags items, including a speelunker, maps, pictures, and other documents. He was very willing to share his pictures and knowledge of the park with Six Flags related websites and contributed materials to sfot.net, parktimes.com, dafe.org, and other Six Flags sites. He created the banner being used at SFOT.net. Scott will missed. Additional links: |
